Iain is an award-winning creative, born in Botswana and raised in Zambia, whose journey in the creative industries has taken him from Glasgow to London, with significant stints in Barcelona, New York, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. His career began over two decades ago in a small agency in Glasgow, and since then, he has carved out a niche for himself by producing innovative work for some of the world's leading brands including Google, Nike, Apple, Adidas, AT&T, Airbnb, and Bacardi.

Throughout his career, Iain has demonstrated a profound ability to lead and direct teams while also excelling in crafting compelling copy and paying meticulous attention to detail. His creative endeavors are not limited to advertising; he is also a sneaker customizer and the founder of a successful magazine, reflecting his diverse interests and talents in the creative world.

Iain's work has been recognized globally, earning him prestigious awards such as the One Show Bronzes and several Cannes Lions shortlists for his contributions to Apple's advertising campaigns. These accolades attest to his skill in integrating creative vision with commercial success, particularly in the realms of film, entertainment, branded content, and digital/social campaigns.

Now based in London, Iain continues to influence the creative landscape, always pushing the boundaries of innovation and design in every project he undertakes.

My Process

Most projects begin by understanding and helping define the strategy. Liaising with the strategist or direct with the clients, I find it's crucial to create a strong foundation for the work that's to come. Next comes a process of concepting and idea generation, either solo or with a creative partner. I like to explore far and wide, before choosing 2-3 territories to share. In most cases, we'll narrow in on the strongest idea and then we'll blow that out into a 360 campaign that addresses all media requirements. And finally, we'd enter production where I'd work closely with production partner / director / post production to bring the idea to life.

To tell the nation about AT&T’s continuous network innovation, we created Frank and Charlie. Two network engineers who are constantly improving AT&T’s, well, network.
To celebrate BHM, Apple commissioned more than 30 Black photographers to capture and share their hometowns with the world. For over 30 days, the @apple IG account was also dedicated to celebrating the Black experience, Black excellence, love, and imagination.
This was a special one. Olipop is a brand new soda that’s taking the US by storm. Not just because it tastes great but because it’s actually good for you. Seriously. This was their first ever brand campaign. We created the platform “Real Love Makes Us”; a celebration of all the little moments that make the big moments possible. We launched it with a global star who truly embodies the authentic spirit of the brand, the amazing Camila Cabello and her fam.
To launch Google’s new video calling app, Duo, we turned to the world’s most famous duos (including a couple of NBA stars). This YouTube comment still makes me proud: “Just casually binge watching Google Duo ads.”
On November 14th 2017, three women made history and became the first African bobsled team to qualify for the Olympics. We thought that deserved to be celebrated, so we invited them to join the Beats family.
